with all picturessss below lol
in my opinion food blog is defined as a space where people share about foods, of course. due to the fact that not all readers get to physically patronize each eateries introduced hence food bloggers play in important role in transforming information received by the taste buds into words such that their reader can get the idea of how the eating experience have been. also, with the aids of photo the very original aesthetics of each foods can be shown to the reader effortlessly.
THEREFORE,
HAVING SAID THAT,
with my cacat english and ultra poor ability to describe things properly (and sensibly), i can never be a food blogger T_T
HOWEVER!!
i can still share photos because my camera takes awesome food photos! lololol
and will try to give comments with my very limited number of vocabularies T_T
taste can be subjective as the sensitivity of taste buds and the preferences for yummy foods differ among individuals. the most heavenly food in one's opinion can be completely crap in others'. hence do try them out yourselves if you happen to drop by ;)
SUSHI HANA (TAMAN SUTERA)
1/
went to the one located within Taman Sutera premise. the interior design is simple and cozy which gives a rather comfortable dining experience. well it could be due to the fact that only two tables were occupied and hence the good ambience -_-
2/
top left: iidako hana maki RM18
bottom left: spider hana maki RM18
iidako hana maki gave an unexpected crispy mouthfeel but taste wise sweetness of the baby octopus took the dominance
spider hana maki is my determinant dish of a japanese restaurant as the combination of fried soft-shell crab and ultimate fat-producing mayo CAN NEVER GO WRONG. if you ever encounter any japanese restaurant which sells lousy spider hana maki, you might as well put it into your NEVER GO BACK list.
3/
left: double salmon maki RM8
middle: aburi salmon sushi RM9
the double salmon maki is made up of topping raw salmon and rolled with fried salmon skin. the raw salmon was pathetically thin and small but with the price of RM8 i shan't ask for too much :)
as you can see from the picture, aburi salmon sushi consisted of half-cooked salmon and rice base. i personally find that the salmon had been overcooked hence it was kinda hard to my preference. i guess the salmon was cooked by flaming over it, as suggested by the distinctive burnt aroma in the mouth.
PUFF GARDEN (MOUNT AUSTIN)
4/
passed by this shop on my way home. i was expecting some nice cake before i realized they are PUFF garden -_-
they sell different kind of puff pastries, as seen from the display fridge.
5/

big: black sesame puff daddy RM3.50
small: fresh durian puff baby RM2.00
puff daddy and puff baby. hm. hilarious enough -_-
i was told that the main difference between daddy and baby is the filling where daddy has cake in it. but possibly my cake disliked me so it ran away before i could spot its presence. the black sesame is smooth and creamy while the taste is just, very sesamely sesame -_-
the puff baby was slightly smaller in size which might grow bigger one day and become puff dady too LOL. true enough, the durian cream filling was fresh to taste with bits of real durian in it. however i'd still prefer the one from Maison au choux (RM2.80, sutera mall).
BLACKBALL (MOUNT AUSTIN)
6/
this shop caught my attention because the chinese logo resemblances to that of GONGCHA -_-
with the intention to find new milk tea, i left with disappointment because their specialty is dessert rather than milktea :( from their menu obviously they are selling something similar to Taroyami, where i left empty-handed during my last visit. well, BELUM TRY BELUM TAHU hence i bought their signature dish BLACKBALL SIGNATURE.
my strategy to new restaurant is always trying the signature or most popular dish. the rationale is that IF the signature dish which they are proud of turns out to be terrible, how do you expect other dishes that are not recommended to be nice?
blackball signature = pearl / taro Q (yam + sweet potato) / taro ball (yam + sweet potato) / grass jelly / red bean RM6.50
red bean was not seen because i dislike red bean so had it replaced with taro ball instead. it can be served iced or hot. mine was cold hence there was actually a thick layer of crushed ice hidden at the bottom. this dish also came with evaporated milk. i kiasuly requested for two because i love milky stuff a lot lol. comment? each component itself was okay as they are springy chewty sweet soft but, but, when they are brought together, it feels like having different food in mouth rather than ONE food. get me?
MORI SUSHI (PERMAS)

left: ebi mentai mayo maki RM25
middel: salmon yuzu maki RM15
top right: hiyashi chuka RM15
bottom right: soft-shell crab maki RM3 (promotional item)
mentai mayo is leewang's and my favourite so that was like the must-order when i spotted it in the menu yet it was quite disappointing. :( no i'm not gonna pay RM25 for it again. the mayo was too thick in texture with quantifiable mentaiko. this dish was basically mayo + prawn and that's it.
i'd recommend salmon yuzu maki! the flaming was very well done which resulted in tender raw salmon with slightly cooked texture on the salmon surface. again, the burnt aroma undoubtedly enhance the taste appeal. a plus point was given to the lemon peel placed on top as it delivered a hint of refreshing note making the dish even more appetizing.
awwww hiyashi chuka is like another must-order in japanese restaurant! it comes with crab meat, egg, seaweed, cucumber, corn and cherry tomato. HEALTHY NOT?? the noodle was springy but i find the sauce a tad too sour. nonetheless it was still a decent dish in my opinion.
the only comment i'd have for the hand roll is obviously the size. why compromised the portion size with price? i'd rather pay more for a generous piece of soft-shell crab :( feeling so cheated!!
DESSERT FOREST 洋菓子森林 (SUTERA MALL) [CLOSED]
8/
apparently this eatery has aimed to focus on GIRLS among all consumers!!!!!!!!!!!
super sweet and dreamy and girly interior design that will definitely attract to almost ALL girls' attention!! that includes me T_T
well too bad the entire space was rather cramp therefore you may need to whisper to your friend(s) should you not want your conversation to be overheard -_-

left: matcha panna cotta 抹茶奶冻
right: mango set
i love panna cotta for its pudding-beancurd texture - it's harder than beancurd but softer than tofu. i'd recommend matcha panna cotta because the matcha taste was pretty true to its taste and not the disgusting artificial matcha flavour. i do not know whether they use the very-expensive matcha powder but what comes first is the good taste.
the mango set is composed of mango panna cotta 芒果奶冻, mango cheong-fun 芒果肠粉 and mango pomelo sago 扬枝甘露. i was surprised by the different texture of this mango panna cotta. it tasted more like pudding because it was really that hard. :( mango cheong-fun was a good one - honey sweet mango with coconut-like outer wrap. as for the mango pomelo sago, it wasn't very impressive though. i'd prefer it to be sweeter, more sago and mango.
nonetheless, i will still go back for
食字路口 (TAMAN SUTERA)
10/
finally i gave it a try after passing by for a million times!
top left: 沙茶拉面 RM8.90
bottom left: 盐酥鸡 RM6.00
right: 卤肉饭 RM8.90
the ramen was of the thick kind, like meepok and the soup just tasted exactly like 沙茶 -_- nothing special about it.
BUT!!
the 盐酥鸡 and 卤肉饭 were quite good though!
LAZIO (DANGA BAY)
11/
left: mushroom soup RM12.50
right: spaghetti marinara RM22.00
can't believe i paid almost RM40 (incl. 14% tax) for these awful dishes!!!!!!!!!!!!
WORST RESTAURANT FOODS EVER.
they added so much MSG that the umami taste lingered in my mouth :x it was good to have lots of mushroom but the texture was way too coarse to make it a good soup.
as for the spaghetti, i paid RM22+ for exactly the same taste as my home cooked spaghetti. pay me RM10 then i can cook exactly the same thing for you, with more prawns maybe.
after the visit i fully understood why their business was so bad. having said that, strange enough they lasted for quite some times already as of now. but i did hear that it had been operated by different bosses ever since they started. well, perhaps this explains my disastrous dining experience.
ROYCE
11/
ok obviously this is not a restaurant but their chocolates are ohmygodly nice!
MUST TRY. MUST TRY. MUST TRYYYYYYYYY!!!!
Nama Chocolate - Matcha S$13.50
it's just rich and smooth and creamy and melt in your mouth. same as M&M - it does not melt in hand but mouth lol
GO BUY NAO!
