Wednesday and the long overdue foodie

It's Wednesday today!

I was telling my bff yesterday how much i loved Wednesday since it marks the mid-week and weekend will be coming after which. Oh weekend, i really wish to see you more frequently in the calendar so not to be shy and hide your face please? : /

Anyway usually i'd be happy on a wednesday but today has been an exceptional one. Perhaps due to the nightmare i had this morning in which the boy turned into a monster that we could no longer be together. I was super duper sad and woke up in tears.

=______________________________=

And kept on sobbing for another few minutes before i fell back asleep again. 😣

Not really in the mood to do anything but quite happy that i found several job ads that are seemingly okay. Gonna send out resumes tomorrow and hopefully will receive reply soon!

You may ask why not send out today. You know, sometimes it is all about mood hahahahahaha!

Ok continue from previous post!

Warning: picture-heavy and saliva-inducing!

AnMour @ Taman Sutera Utama again!

Prawn fritters if i'm not wrong

Chicken Cordon Bleu (?)

the mashed potato was really good!

Homemade pork patty burger
hmmm not so impressive though

I think they were panna cotta if i remember correctly
hmmm didn't like it

Have not been to AnMour for a while since my last visit. i feel that their standard has dropped slightly so it is no longer an option when deciding our lunch/dinner place.

Moonlight Cake House

Nasi Lemak
Surprisingly good!

Chocolate / Hazelnut Cake

The cake was okay but not to the extent where i would make a trip down just for their cakes. I guess this is just the standard of what a CAKE HOUSE, as they claim themselves as, should possess if they want their business to be sustainable for the long run.

食客 Korean BBQ

Kimchi Soup & Bibimbap

食客 is one of my favorite Korean restaurant
The foods were good but i really couldn't stand the poor ventilation : /

美寿司 Mishuji Japanese Restaurant @ Mount Austin

Salmon Nigiri @ RM8/+

Salmon Mentai Nigiri @ RM10/+

Hoshin Roll @ RM25/+

Overall experience was ok but i have a feeling that it seems to be a norm for sushi to be priced in this range nowadays when we would expect even better quality in older days at this amount paid. Inflation? I'm not too sure though.

Perhaps consumers nowadays are willing to spend more for their tummy that businessmen out there are just taking advantage of this.

There are many other options out there so i will not travel all the way down to Austin just to have these localised Japanese foods. I would just pop by tha Kage Sushi or Ebisu at my area when i have any craving for Japanese foods, they are equally good too if not even better.

Toro's Espanol @ Permas (relocated to Bukit Indah, right behind Legato Pub & Bistro) - Must-try

Apple Dates Stuffed Chicken @ RM21/+

Seafood Paella from set lunch @ RM16.80/+

This was the second Spanish restaurant i came across. I liked the foods but i find their paella more oily than that from Koco Loco. Read more here --> Español Restaurante Koco Loco

Ambush @ Bishan Junction 8 - Must-try

Soup of the day S$3.50

Okto Platter @ S$16.50/+

Portobello Salad @ S$10/+

I liked the foods and ambience very much. Pricing was rather reasonable too. Will definitely go back!

Bakerzin - Must-try

$24.90 Set Dinner - Waldorf Salad

$24.90 Set Dinner - Carbonara

$24.90 Set Dinner - Jivara

Ala Carte - Baked Sausages  $11.50/++

Bakerzin can be regarded as one of my favourite restaurant in Singapore! They used to have this Seafood Pie which both the boy and I liked very very much but it was no longer available ever since they revamped the menu.... Felt quite sad over this for some times.  😢

BAKERZIN, Y U NO SELL SEAFOOD PIE NOW???

Café Cartel

Caesar Salad with Smoked Salmon S$15.60/++

Trio Meat Lover's @ S$21.50/++

Bologna Cheezy Meatballs @ S$8.70

We wouldn't have ordered all these if we had not bought the Groupon vouchers loll. Not really worth it in my opinion.

RamenPlay

Chashu Ramen

Japanese Gyoza

Hiyashi Chuka

Oh well, nothing special about them...

Shimbashi Soba @ NEX - Must-try

Mini Yuzu Seiro @ S$18.90/++

Tamagoyaki - FOC

Matcha Ice-cream - FOC

Kaiso Salad @ S$7.80/++

The soba are freshly made daily and there is a showcasing area where a certified chef will be demonstrating the making process of soba. I knew the chef was certified because the cert was displayed on the glass lolol.

Totally in love with this healthy meal! I will definitely go back for their soba again!

The Marco Polo Kitchen

It had really nice ambience and it was simply a good dining place. But seriously the foods were awful and also expensive that we didn't even border to give it a second chance. However it seems to be always crowded whenever we passed by. Should we give it a try again?

Bobby's @ Chijmes

Baked Potato Skin with Cheese

Pork Rib

Pan-seared Fish

Good ambience, food were okay but rather expensive though. No, will not go back again.

Famous Mamak @ KL

The super famous nasi lemak! The chicken was da bomb!!!
SO.CRISPY.SO.GOOD.

The authentic Ibumie Goreng! 😱😱😱😱😱

SO. GOOD.
and cheap too!

oh gosh finally finished everything. Didn't realise there are SO MANY photos.
Desserts coming up!

What (not) to eat post! Do not read this if you are hungry. You have been forewarned.

Else do not blame me for making you drool at the middle of the night. lolol

This is not a proper blog post but an attempt to give attention to photos that have been kept unattended in my camera roll for a year (or more). Photos I'm sorry T_T #guilty.jpg

Also posted with the intention of telling you to try (or not to try) them!

1/
Green Tea Cheese Cake from Secret Recipe.
They should have renamed it to Bottled Wheatgrass Drink Cheese Cake

2/

The very highly-raved about Rich & Good Cake Shop
It was good, but not extraordinarily good though.

3/
Salad yew-char-kway!!!!!!!!!!!
RM3.50 for 2 yew-char-kway + coleslaw.
The only place (i know) that is still selling this is the Malay stall right opposite Marrybrown in City Square.

4/
Fondant chocolate from Beard Papa

This is also da bomb! It's already heavenly at room temperature but it's even better after heated up because you will get the oozing chocolate centre like the chocolate lava cake! #MUST-TRY

5/
Dorayaki!!!
Forgotten what filling already so apparently it was not so fantastic.

6/
Okowa (sticky rice) from Yonehachi located at basement of Takashimaya.
You could choose from this assortment set or individual type of okowa. I liked it!
Gosh Japanese foods are also good. Even wasabi tastes good. #iwannagotojapanandeatALLthefoods

7/
Walnut & butterscotch X Rum & Raisin X Macadamia Supreme
Well ice-cream can never go wrong especially when it was NEW ZEALAND NATURAL

8/
I had this Osaka version of Hokkaido Cake because it was 99% similar to Hokkaido cake but has been named OSAKA CAKE.  =________________=

9/
The famous Boon Tong Kee chicken. $4.50 each so expensive but it was just SO SO.

10/
Almond caramel waffe from Sucré Waffle.
Trying once is (more than) enough.

11/
Smoked Salmon Platter from MOF

12/
I have zero resistance for this kind of Gongcha-like beverages but i always got disappointed by the weird milky taste and this one was no exception.

13/
Rum & Raisin X Moscato
Let me repeat: Ice-cream can never go wrong! =_=
Especially branded one lolol

14/
Ikea token for...........

15/
Ice-cream cone!!

When i saw the machine i happily went to exchange for coins wanting to dispense the ice-cream like how the staff at McDonald did YET some smart people invented this fully automated mechanism where ALL you need to do is simply insert the token --> place your cone on the stand --> press the start button --> wait for the ice-cream to be ready.

......... :x

Anyway the ice-cream was OK, very childhood flavor - if u get what i meant. ;)

16/
Absolute Chocolate from Secret Recipe, RM10.60 each

From the price you can already tell it is the absolutely chocolatey Absolute Chocolate
Very, very rich chocolate cake that is a little bit too much. Royal Chocolate Cake, the other new flavor, suits me more!

17/
BEST YAM CAKE EVER.
Homemade is always the best!!

18/
My favorite pork bratwurst and sauerkraut from Chinatown
The boss was a German and their sausages and sauerkraut are really good
Remember to choose the ketchup when asked for choice of sauces. It's not the normal ketchup we eat but a special recipe. If a ketchup that doesn't taste like ketchup, is it still a ketchup? hahahaha
Mashed potato is good too lolol

19/
99.99999999% same as Ireland Potato but it seems to have been taken over by this CRAZY POTATO :(
Favorite wasabi mayo flavor! Bought from Mid Valley, KL.

20/
Red Velvet from Coffee Bean. Pretty good :)

21/
Fried Kway Teow from Sedap Corner. Sedap indeed!

22/
Only in Malaysia - Maggie Goreng tambah ayam :D
from mamak chain Ayub!

23/
Have been addicted to Nasi Briyani that spices up my life! :D
And this was Nasi Briyani tambah ayam from Habib, RM7.50
