There was a sudden blackout and an iMac 27" miraculously appeared after the electricity was resumed

If it did happen i'd happily wish that blackout happen once every few seconds lolololol.

(For non-Malaysian, the subject is actually a joke inspired from our recent General Election. Rest assured that it's perfectly normal if you did not get it.)

Having an iMac is like a dream-come-true to me.

I could still remember how highly raved-about desktops from Apple were in the era when laptops were still not so common and the monitors were still of those CRT type.

Remember this?

Yes this is the first iMac which Apple first introduced in 1998. The teal-color monitor quickly caught the attention of many people especially when placed next to other computer which operated with ugly, beige colour CRT monitor. Less than a year later, Apple introduced the second generation with five bright colour. Guess that? A week after the those coloured iMac were launched, Apple announced that its most recent quarterly earnings were three times what they had been the year before, according to Time.com.

THREE TIMES!!

Now you know how popular it was, is, and will still be.

It was a dream to own the pretty iMac back then but it was so expensive! Gauge the value of RM5k 15 years back when a bowl of noodle costed only RM2.

Another issue was that iMac used Macintosh as the operating system rather than the dominating Microsoft Windows.  I was not even familiar with Microsoft Windows back then so leave alone Macintosh. The word 'Macintosh' sounded totally alien to me and what i heard most about Macintosh was that it was totally different from how M. Windows works and was difficult to use. Now when i come to think of it, those statements were complete bull shit. Most probably people who said that 1200% had not used that before and had no idea how it actually works.

Even until now, there were still friends telling me THEY HEARD THAT MAC OS IS DIFFICULT TO USE.

Come on, i reckon Mac OS is the best operating system ever and it is so much, much more easier and simple to operate than Microsoft Windows. Not to forget the ingenious multi-touch function.

Ok back to topic.

So it remained as an unfulfilled dream since then... Whenever i passed by an Apple store, i just couldn't help but move my centre of attention to the iMac display. T______________T

Finally, i bought it after. freaking. 15. years!!!!
None other but the 27" iMac .

It was not my first Apple computer though. I got myself a Macbook Pro as i needed it in school so a desktop would not be feasible. The boy and I have been contemplating to get one for our new room because the stylish iMac simply makes a perfect room decor lol. But it came earlier because my MBP died on me unexpectedly... :( The logic board broke down and you wouldn't believe it costs RM1.8k to get it repaired!

RM1.8k.

Are you kidding me???

After some considerations we agreed to bring forward the iMac plan and saved the RM1.8k for now. I am still going to have it repaired if i manage to get it done at lower cost.  It hurts to see the lovely MBP lying at one corner unusable. :(

So I think unboxing my dream computer deserves an entry and here it is lolol.

Have been tracking on the website ever since order was made and a week later finally the DHL delivery guy came and knocked on my door!

The 15kg giant box!
It was actually wedge-shaped with broad bottom rather than the normal rectangular shape.

Tadah!

The back.

The top part was well-protected by the thick sponge.

So was the bottom part.

To open, flip the top flap up.

And pull!

All the way down.

As usual, ultra thick styrofoam was used for extra protection.

The styrofoam was divided into upper and lower part for easy removal.

Awwww look at the ultra-thin body!

Power cord.

All wrapped up.
It was so gigantic! :O :O :O

AND VERY HEAVY TOO. The boy was unable to carry it up on his own. =______________=

For once i actually regretted getting 27" coz it was simply too big as compared to the 13" screen of my MBP. D: But i got used to it after a while and am very happy with it now. ^^

The 'hole' for power cord to pass through the stand so it won't be bent.

I still kept the cover to get rid of dust when not in use lolol

DANG DANG DANG DANG!!!

IT. IS. SO. BEAUTIFUL.

Selected the cordless keyboard without number pad and the magic trackpad. The default option was magic mouse but you could opt for trackpad at no extra cost. Trackpad was chosen as i am no longer use to mouse ever since i started using MBP.

I love love love the trackpad! Trust me, once you are used to it you will not want a mouse anymore. Not even the magic mouse!

#truestory.

This is a photo this mac showing me typing out this entry using this mac #macception.

ok that's the unboxing of my dream iMac!

It's is one month old now and i hope it will stay healthily forever. :)

A dessert post to mask the bitter heart

3 days after GE13 and i am still as heartbroken as the moment when the so-called official results were announced. Felt so sad whenever the Ubah banner or banner with image of Uncle LKS came into sight. :(

Anyway some say there are still chances for appeal and the opposition leader is brewing something so let's hope for the best!

Leave the bitter stuff behind and let's have some desserts!

Tea Dot @ NEX, Singapore

Lemon Meringue Tart

i liked it!
Not too sweet nor sour.

Lollipop Earl Grey

It was okay but a tad too sweet to my preference.
I'd prefer the Matcha Gravity

Da Paolo Gastronomia @ Serangoon Garden, Singapore

Crème Brûlée S$3.90/+

this was a Crème Brûlée that was not Brûlée enough loll
Taste okay but this is definitely not the one to go to when you have craving for it

Apple Tart | S$6/+

this was tart that was not so tart-y lolol
can't really remember the taste as i had it really long ago =_=
but no doubt it was good!

Tiramisu | S$11/+

Everybody knows how good Tiramisu from Da Paolo is. Must-try!

Crunchy Hazelnut

ordered this during my second visit.
I wondered they it was named CRUNCHY when i was not crunchy at all =_=

Banoffee Tart

Basically it's was Banana + toffee. It was okay but not too impressive though.

Bakerzin @ Jurong Point, Singapore

Lemon Tart

oh well, just a normal piece.

Secret Recipe

Absolute Chocolate | RM10/+

i remember when i first knew about Secret Recipe, the cakes were mostly RM4.90/pcs while brownies were RM3.50/pcs back then.

NOW?

this was freaking RM10/pcs!!!

Ok lar this is from the premium range that's why it's more expensive. BUT even the normal cheesecakes / cream cakes cost RM7.50 each now!

INFLATION, WHAT HAVE YOU DONE TO MY CAKE?

Just Want Cafe @ Permas Jaya

Café Latté

Just Want Cafe is a cozy cafe located at a little corner around Permas Jaya.
It's definitely a good place for your to have some good coffee while catching up with friends.

Had totoro latté art!
Not to forget their awesome biscotti too.

Tofu Cheese Cake

Had this the other day. Didn't quite like it at first but the more i ate the better it tasted.
The texture fell between that of light cheese and the heavy new york cheese cake.

Did i mention they have good tiramisu too?

Mad Jack @ NEX, Singapore

Tiramadsu | S$4.90/+

Sweetie Pie | S$3.90/+

U Dessert @ Mount Austin

Mango Coconut Pudding
This was good but the coconut seemed to have given me flatulence.... :(

Mango Cheong-Fun
Yum yum yum the mangoes were soooooooooo sweet!

Bread Society @ ION Orchard

Lemon Tart

Looked appealing but trust me - it was really really not as good as it seems to be.

Apple Crumble Tart

I'm not even bothered to describe it.
Simply another disappointment

Espresso Sporting Club "M" @ Monster Cafe, Nusa Bestari

The interior, very interesting though.

Carrot Cake

The cake itself was quite dry and tough........... : /

Café Latté

Too bitter to my liking.

Twelve Cupcakes @ Parkway Parade, Singapore

Chocolate Chocolate | S$2.50

Red Velvet | S$2.50

Twelve Cupcakes are my love as they are sooooooooooo good especially this Red Velvet!!!
The cream cheese tastes just right and the sponge base is SO soft and fluffy.

MUST-TRY!

Pierre Hermé Paris

Assorted Macarons

No i didn't go to Paris. But i really wish i did T_T
Thanks to my beloved miss choco who always bring me these awesome sweet stuff all the way from France!

I couldn't remember the exact flavour of each one, but there was flavour like FOIE GRAS!

OH SO BEAUTIFUL!!!!!!!! :O :O :O

NOT PH but Sadaharu AOKI
equally good!!!!!!!!

Cupcakes with Love @ Katong Road, Singapore

It is located along the road which i take to the boy's office. Finally there was this fine day i managed to stop by and got my hands on them!

A chart showing all the variations.

Display cabinet

Minimum purchase of 4 pieces for free box!

To my disbelief the small little box costs S$2 each :O
For purchase of 3 cupcakes and below, cupcakes will be packed in PAPER BAG =__________=

For the price of S$3.50 each, i was quite shocked and disappointed that they are providing a proper packaging at extra cost.

Mind you, Twelve Cupcakes, at the price of S$2.50 each, provides a specially-designed container for individual cake.

Top, L-R: Red Velvet, Strawberry Surprise
Bottom, L-R: Adult Chocolate (contains Rums), Polka Chocs
$3.50/each

Taste ok but the texture (and price) is in no way a good match of Twelve Cupcakes.
Also, they could be more generous in the amount of topping.

Will not go back again. :<

The hidden polka dots.

Carffee @ Taman Molek

Signature Tiramisu | RM9.90

Pretty good! Nowadays i have not special liking towards Tiramisu anymore because i can make a really good one lolol

Café Latté | RM9.90

This is my favourite café latté so far. Brewed from Southern coffee bean.

You might notice that i did not give much comments or description on these foods. This is simply because i procrastinated for loooooooooooooooog enough that i have forgotten about how they taste already =___________________=

Promise will be posting up-to-date entry!!
